Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 15, 2020

Wild Earth Allies (“WEA” or “we” or “us” or “our”) recognizes the importance our donors, prospects, subscribers and visitors to our website place on the privacy of their information.  This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains the privacy practices governing information collected through the Wild Earth Allies website (located at https://wildearthallies.org) and all other WEA websites or online services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Site”), as well as certain information collected from our supporters offline.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully because when you submit information to or through the Site, you are consenting to the collection, processing and retention of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.  Capitalized terms used but not defined herein have the meanings assigned to them in our Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, please stop using the Site and its services immediately.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information You Provide to Us.  When you use the Site, we may collect information that could reasonably be used to contact you or to identify you personally (“Personal Information”).  Personal Information includes, but is not limited to, your name, email address, telephone number, and mailing address.  You may also be asked to provide us with Personal Information when you contact us via the Site or subscribe to any of our newsletters or mailing lists.

Information Collected Offline.  In addition to the Personal Information we collect through the Site, we may also obtain information from pledge cards, letters, surveys, applications, and other offline sources.  This information may include information about your present and past donation or transaction history, which we may collect from public documents and reports, and from any other interactions you may have had with WEA.

Information We Collect Automatically.  Whenever you visit or interact with the Site, we may use a variety of technologies that automatically or passively collect information about how you access or use the Site (“Usage Information”).  Usage Information may include your browser type, operating system, the page served, the time, and the preceding page views.  However, this information does not identify you as the individual user. We do not treat Usage Information as Personal Information unless it is combined with other data that, once linked, can be used to identify you.  Usage Information helps us understand which parts of the Site are the most popular, where our online visitors are going, and what content or services users may find useful.

Cookies and Do Not Track.  We may collect information about you or your use of the Site through cookies, tracking pixels or other technologies.  We use this information to better understand, customize and improve the Site, services and offerings. The information we collect through cookies or tracking pixels may help us understand how visitors use and engage with the Site.  If you have provided us with your Personal Information, for example, when you registered on the Site or requested information from us, we may associate this Personal Information with information we have collected through cookies, tracking pixels or other technologies.

Cookies.  A “cookie” is a file that websites send to a user’s computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify the user’s browser or to store information or settings in the browser.  We use cookies to personalize content and ads, to provide social media features and to analyse our traffic. We also share information about your use of the Site with our social media, advertising and analytics partners who may combine it with other information that you’ve provided to them or that they’ve collected from your use of their services.

You consent to our cookies if you continue to use the Site.

The Site uses different types of cookies.  Some cookies are placed by third party services that appear on our pages.

If you do not want the Site to collect information through the use of cookies, you can set your web browser to reject cookies from the Site, or you can change your preferences below.  Each browser is different, so you should check your browser’s “Help” menu to learn how to change your cookie preferences. If you reject or block cookies from the Site, however, the Site may not function as intended.

Some third-party partners and service providers that we engage may also place their own cookies on your browser.  Note that this Privacy Policy only covers our use of cookies and does not include use of cookies by such third parties.

Google Analytics.  We use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about your use of the Site.  Google Analytics collects information such as how often you visit the Site, what pages you visit when you do, and what other sites you may have visited prior to coming to this Site.  We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve the Site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit the Site, rather than your name or other identifying information.  We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with any other Personal Information we may have collected from you. Although Google Analytics deploys a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google.  Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the Site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.  You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to the Site by disabling cookies on your browser.

Do Not Track.  Currently, the Site is not designed to respond to “Do Not Track” signals sent from your browser.
